A main component of our research was investigating what happens when movement and embodied experiences are allowed to facilitate learning. Similar to how we use talking and writing to think, we were interested in using dance to think. We explored this using a movement methodology Celeste Miller and Michael Richter have been developing over the years called Dancing Dialogic Research (DDR). They have written the following about this methodology: 

"Dancing Dialogic Research (DDR) is phenomenological. The dancing body is what offers the metaphors for understanding, deepening the investigation, and the possibility of discovering new knowledge. DDR uses these capacities and processes specifically to address issues of concern for the researchers. DDR places itself within the field of arts-based research as a specific technique that is interactive, using choreographic gaze and dance tools to conduct embodied research into an individual’s theme or topic."
